4Responsible.AI
A coevolutionary workforce system for responsible AI adoption organized around four principles: Propel Human Capability, Protect Human Agency, Preserve Human Skill, and Bound AI. It provides methods for organizations to increase AI capability while intentionally developing and preserving the human capabilities required to lead, judge, learn, and work alongside increasingly agentic AI.

Human Agency
Within 4Responsible.AI, Human Agency describes the capacity of people to intentionally exercise judgment, reasoning, choice, and meaningful control over their work and decisions. In AI-enabled environments, human agency means humans remain active participants in shaping outcomes rather than becoming passive recipients of AI outputs.

Human Coding
Human Coding is a workforce-design methodology within the 4Responsible.AI Coevolutionary Workforce System intentionally defining how humans and AI participate in work. Human Coding uses Coordinate, Orchestrate, Delegate, and Encode (CODE) to redesign work while identifying the human activities that should remain practiced and preserved.

Coevolutionary Workforce
Within 4Responsible.AI, Coevolutionary Workforce describes a workforce in which human capability and AI capability intentionally develop together. Rather than measuring AI adoption primarily by automation or productivity, a coevolutionary workforce seeks increased organizational performance while maintaining or increasing human agency.

Agenticness
Within 4Responsible.AI, Agenticness describes the degree of autonomy, authority, and execution capability assigned to an AI system or agent. Increasing agenticness shifts AI from informing and assisting humans toward planning, deciding, and executing activities with progressively less human intervention.

Atrophy Risk
Within 4Responsible.AI, Atrophy Risk describes the repeated delegation of an activity to AI reduces a person's ability to independently perform the underlying human skill. Atrophy Risk Assessment helps organizations identify capabilities that require continued human practice, comparison, or preservation.

Human Skill Encoding
Human Skill Coding is a workforce-design methodology within the 4Responsible.AI Coevolutionary Workforce System with intentional inclusion of human activities within AI-enabled work to preserve important skills, reasoning, judgment, knowledge, or capabilities. Human Skill Encoding helps ensure that workflow optimization does not unintentionally remove the experiences through which human expertise develops.

Generative Learning
A form of AI-enabled learning in which people use generative AI to transform information through interaction, context, reflection, practice, and multiple learning modalities. The objective is not simply faster access to answers but increased human understanding and capability.

Learning Velocity
The rate at which a person, team, or organization can move from information and experience to understanding, application, feedback, and improved action. Generative AI can increase learning velocity when it accelerates these cycles without replacing the human reasoning necessary for learning.

Cognitive Agency
Within 4Responsible.AI, Cognitive Agency describes a person's capacity to actively direct their own thinking, reasoning, sensemaking, questioning, and learning. Cognitive agency is preserved when AI expands access to intelligence while humans continue performing meaningful cognitive activities rather than routinely outsourcing them.

AI Delegation
The intentional transfer of defined activities, authority, or control from humans to AI. Responsible AI delegation considers the complexity of the activity, required human judgment, consequences of error, appropriate AI agenticness, and the human capabilities that should remain preserved.

PACE
PACE is a 4Responsible.AI human capability-preservation methodology for human-AI interaction and capability-preservation method: Practice → Augment → Compare → Encode. A person first practices a capability, uses AI to augment the activity, compares human and AI-assisted performance, and then identifies the human knowledge or skill that should be encoded into future work.

PIAF
A framework for designing an AI-enabled function through four dimensions: Purpose, Interaction, Agenticness, and Function. PIAF helps organizations clarify why AI is being introduced, how humans and AI will interact, how much authority AI receives, and what work the system performs.

Agentic Delegation Process (ADP)
The Agentic Delegation Process (ADP) is the delegation methodology used within 4Responsible.AI for determining how much activity or control should be delegated to AI across six levels: Inform → Think → Learn → Plan → Decide → Execute. ADP helps organizations move beyond the binary choice of human versus AI by deliberately determining the appropriate level of AI participation.

842 Loop
A prioritization and cognitive-digestion methodology that converts complexity into action through 8 Jobs to Be Done → 4 Priorities → 2 Batch Actions. The loop helps people bound large volumes of AI-generated information, focus human attention, execute manageable actions, learn from results, and regenerate the next cycle.

Cognitive Lean Loop
A continuous human-AI learning and decision cycle structured around Sense → Dialogue → State → Compute → Prescribe → Regenerate. It uses AI to accelerate synthesis and learning while keeping humans engaged in defining context, interpreting information, evaluating recommendations, and determining subsequent action. [SRC-4R-01]
